What Happens During a 1-Day Pit Pass at Cicero Music Garage?

You’ve been thinking about music lessons, but you’re not ready to commit your Tuesdays for the next year based on a website and a few photos.

Fair.

Maybe your kid wants to play drums, but you’re not sure whether they’ll connect with an instructor. Maybe you’ve wanted to learn guitar for years and you’re wondering what starting as an adult would actually feel like.

The 1-Day Pit Pass lets you come experience Cicero Music Garage first. You’ll meet an instructor, make music, and leave with a starting point that belongs to you.

First, we get to know the student

What music do you love? What made you curious about lessons? What would you be excited to do that you can’t do yet?

If the student is a child, we want to hear their answer, not just their parent’s. If the student is an adult, we want to know what brought them here now.

You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly worded goal. “I want to play that song” or “I’ve always wanted to try” gives us plenty to work with.

Your goals drive the bus. We need to know where you want to go before we help map the route.

Then you walk the track

During the Pit Pass, you and your instructor move through four Turns. You get to explore the music, try things for yourself, and discover what feels exciting and what feels challenging.

This is a real first day at the Garage. You’ll have an instructor with you, an instrument in your hands, and room to be a beginner. You can ask questions. You can miss notes. We’ll work through the hard part together.

We’re paying attention to more than what you can already play. We’re learning how you approach something new, what catches your interest, and where a little help makes a difference.

You leave knowing your Turn 1

Before you leave, we’ll identify Turn 1: the first clear goal on your musical journey.

For one student, that could mean getting comfortable with a rhythm. For another, it might mean playing the opening of a song they love. Someone else may want to sing in front of another person without freezing up.

We won’t hand every student the same goal. Turn 1 should make sense for the person who walked through the door.

We’ll show you what the next 90 days could look like

Your Pit Pass also gives us enough to talk about where you could go after Turn 1.

Together, we’ll lay out a direction for your first 90 days: what you want to work toward, the skills that can help you get there, and the smaller wins we’ll look for along the way. As we get to know you better, that plan can grow with you.

That matters because “take music lessons” is pretty vague. We want you to be able to picture what you’re working toward and why each step matters to you.

If you decide to continue, the 90-Day Launch is how we start working toward that plan together. You’ll know the direction before you make that decision.

What are we really hoping you experience?

We hope you make some music, find a first win, and leave feeling Loved. Valued. Cared For.

That means your instructor listens to you. Your goals matter. And when something is hard, you have someone beside you who is ready to help.

You do not have to know whether you’ll be a lifelong musician. You just have to be willing to take your first turn.

Grab a 1-Day Pit Pass at Cicero Music Garage. We’re at 50 W Buckeye St. in Cicero, Indiana. Come walk the track. Let’s find your Turn 1. 🤘
